Everyone deserves basic rights to live

I'm so tired of the world and how it is currently, especially here in the united states. People deserve to exist, they deserve basic common decency, they deserve love and compassion. Trying to erase a group of people from existence takes us back to the dark ages. Burning books takes us back to a time when people were afraid to speak out. People marched in the streets for a reason, to protest what they thought was unfair. Now that's happening again. People I love and care about are the new targets. This is not okay.

How can you say that you love a person, a specific person, if you hate their way of life, who they love, what they choose to do with their bodies? That's not love. Love is unconditional. You cannot love someone and want to change their most treasured part of themselves. I don't believe in the issue of "well it's not them, it's who they love, or who they're trying to be. It's a cry for attention." If you say those things to me you may as well walk yourself out that door right now because we are no longer friends after that.

I am part of the LGBTQ+ community. I love people that are a part of it too. I will continue to do so. I will not back down just because some bigotted law makers think that they can change people by making things difficult for us. They're wrong.

There's a map going around showing which areas in the United States are safe for the LGBTQ+ community and it's terrifying to see so many states that are unsafe, so many places that would deny healthcare based on someone's definition of themselves. It's not right. It's hurtful and down right disgraceful. Everyone deserves basic rights. Everyone deserves healthcare. Their gender should not matter.

Then there's this thing with target and other corporations receiving threats for putting out pride merch. Yes, some of it was marketed towards kids. Get over it. Gay couples have children too. They want equal representation. Don't believe in it, then don't buy it. No one in the LGBTQ+ community is trying to "groom" your child. Honestly children are more open about things than adults. They see the world much better than we do. They don't see color, race, gender, or who someone loves as wrong. They see friendships they can make and people they can care about or help. The issue isn't with the LGBTQ+ community I assure you. If you want to find a community to have issues with, look at churches, look at catholicism and christianity. There's a reason so many of us left the church when we realized who we were, why so many of us refuse to attend. That's an argument for another time however.
